Our story
Lairos was born from a simple, very personal need. When our child had to wear AFO braces every day, we learned how hard it was to find socks
that were not only comfortable and protective, but also fun and inspiring to wear.
What started as a challenge at home soon became our mission:
Creating socks that bring comfort, confidence, and pride.
Our Beginning
When our son was three years old, he was diagnosed with a rare genetic condition that affected his legs. To support his walking, doctors recommended AFO braces. At first, we believed the hardest part would be finding the right braces and helping him wear them every single day without feeling restricted in his movement or embarrassed by how they looked.
Only later did we realize that another challenge was waiting for us — something we had never anticipated. What seemed like a simple detail turned out to be one of the biggest struggles: finding the right socks. We needed socks that were soft and protective, practical enough for daily use, and at the same time fun and inspiring, so he could feel proud wearing them.
That was when we discovered how difficult it was to find socks that were not only protective and soft, but also stylish and truly comfortable.
The Challenge
We searched everywhere, but finding the right socks felt impossible.
We tried countless types and brands — but discovering proper knee-high socks for children was nearly impossible. And if we did manage to find some, they were always plain, dull colors. Whenever we came across socks with fun, vibrant prints, they were made only in adult sizes, which meant the heel seams never matched the size of our son’s feet. The fabric was often too thick, with loose threads on the inside that left marks on his skin after wearing braces for several hours a day. They weren’t breathable enough, not flexible enough, and almost always had a tight elastic band at the top that pressed uncomfortably on his legs.

A Turning Point
We realized we couldn’t find what we needed, so we decided to create it ourselves. What began as a challenge for our son turned into a mission to design socks that change the way people experience braces and walking aids.
We explored countless factories, fabrics, and stitching techniques, testing every detail until we found the right balance. Above all, our focus was on creating socks that combined comfort with design — without compromising one for the other. It wasn’t easy, but through persistence we discovered the perfect blend of materials: soft and gentle on sensitive skin, flexible enough for daily wear, stylish and playful with unique prints designed especially for kids, and — most importantly — with the true knee-high length that works seamlessly with AFO braces.
Today & Tomorrow
Today, our son no longer needs his braces. That chapter of our journey is behind us, even though new challenges always come along. But it was those early years with braces — the search, the struggles, and the small victories — that gave us the inspiration to launch Lairos.
Our socks are now designed not just for kids like him, but also for toddlers, teens, and adults around the world who need comfort, protection, and style every day.

The Meaning Behind Lairos
The name Lairos is inspired by our son and the word Kairos – a Greek word meaning the right moment, a rare opportunity, or a turning point. For us, this brand is exactly that: a moment of change, born from love, strength, and the courage to make a difference.
